Subject: RPG Meets EPA Milestone for Mak Engines


Resource Power Group (RPG) has achieved a major milestone by obtaining the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certificates of Conformity for three MaK 12VM32C generator sets to be installed in a U.S. new building project. The engines have been certified by the American Bureau of Shipping and are International Maritime Organization (IMO) Tier II/EPA Tier 3 emissions compliant. The generator sets are part of an auxiliary package for use aboard a new US Flagged dredge, the dredge MacArthur. The dredge is being built for Texas-based Callan Marine Ltd. by C&C Marine at its Belle Chasse, LA facility. RPG is excited to be a part of this great endeavor.

SUBJECT: EMD Engines for Mexico Pass Factory Acceptance Test


Two medium speed Electro-Motive Diesel (EMD) engines sold by Resource Power Group (RPG) have passed their Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT). The engines were fabricated at the Caterpillar-Progressive Rail facility in La Grange, Ill where the FAT took place. The engines have been certified by the American Bureau of Shipping and are International Maritime Organization (IMO) Tier II emissions compliant. The EMD 12ME23A, (12-710-G5C) engines are part of a propulsion package provided by RPG to Astilleros Marecsa, in Mazatlán, Mexico for the Exportadora de Sal S.A., or ESSA, towing vessel, Barco Remolcador Cormorán. “The engines are built like a tank and purr like a kitten,” according to RPG Project Manager Henry Cook. “EMD did a great job.”

SUBJECT:  RPG Achieves MSA Platinum Level in Renewal Audit 


Resource Power Group (RPG) has achieved the Platinum Rating during the Marine Service Assessment (MSA) audit conducted by DNV-GL. Based on this audit, RPG continues to be the only MaK service dealer in the Americas to have such a rating. The MSA is a certification awarded to marine engine service dealers who meet the standards set forth by Caterpillar Inc for either Caterpillar or MaK branded products. The purpose of the certification is to audit the technical abilities of service personnel, policies and procedures, and customer service. Resource Power Group has its headquarters in the Houston area, and has branches in Miami, New Orleans, Panama, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic. It is a medium speed engine sales and service company representing MaK, EMD, Napier Turbochargers, Mitsubishi Turbochargers, Heinzmann, Regulateurs Europa, and Noris Controls. It is a division of Louisiana Machinery Company LLC, a private company founded in 1933.

SUBJECT:  RPG Achieves 24% Year-Over-Year Growth Rate

Resource Power Group (RPG), the medium speed engine sales and service company representing MaK, EMD, Napier Turbochargers, Mitsubishi Turbochargers, Heinzmann, Regulateurs Europa, and Noris Controls has achieved an average 24% year-over-year growth rate for the years of 2013 to 2017. The company has expanded both by adding additional product lines and through geographical market expansion. However, the real growth according to Dan Kabel, General Manager of RPG, has been due to the demand for highly trained technical people for ship propulsion and power generation in the Middle Americas where RPG operates. “No one can match the caliber of our technical field service people,” claims Kabel. “We hire the best and brightest and then provide as much training as our schedule allows.” RPG is a division of Louisiana Machinery Company LLC, a privately owned business established in 1933.

SUBJECT: RPG Receives Propulsion Order for Tugboat in Mexico

Resource Power Group (“RPG”), the medium speed engines sales and service company representing MaK, EMD, Napier Turbochargers, Mitsubishi Turbochargers, Heinzmann, Regulateurs Europa, and Noris Controls has received an order for the propulsion equipment for a new tugboat to be built for Mexico service. The order includes two new EMD 710 engines, Falk reduction gears, and Noris Controls, as well as other engine and propulsion equipment and control systems elements. The vessel will be built by Astilleros Marecsa in Mexico. With headquarters in Houston, RPG offers medium speed engine sales and service in the Middle Americas at workshop locations in Houston, New Orleans, Miami, Mexico, Panama, and the Dominican Republic.

SUBJECT: RPG Territory Extended to include Ecuador and Peru


Resource Power Group (“RPG”), the medium speed engine sales and service company representing MaK, EMD, Napier, Mitsubishi Turbochargers, Heinzmann, Regulateurs Europa, and Noris Controls has been awarded the EMD engine sales and service territory of Ecuador and Peru. This territory is now added to the countries of the northern cone of South America which already included Colombia, Suriname, Venezuela, Guyana, and French Guiana. The recently established RPG Panama workshop will help facilitate service and sales in the newly awarded territory.

SUBJECT: RPG Receives Additional Napier Authorizations

Resource Power Group (“RPG”), the medium speed engine sales and service company representing MaK, EMD, Napier, Mitsubishi Turbochargers, Heinzmann, Regulateurs Europa, and Noris Controls has received additional authorizations for its Mexico and Dominican Republic turbocharger workshops. Napier Turbocharger in the UK performs initial and periodic audits in order to qualify and re-qualify any new or existing turbocharger workshop. A Napier authorization is an authorization of the workshop as well as the technicians who operate the equipment. The Mexico workshop is located in Ciudad del Carmen and the Dominican Republic workshop is located in Juan Dolio outside of Santo Domingo.

The facility is outfitted with an engine workshop, spare parts storage, turbocharger cleaning and balancing workshop, and a governor and actuator workshop. The Panama workshop facilitates RPG’s service activities in the Central American region. The workshop is brand new and located in the Panama Pacifico industrial park.

SUBJECT: RPG Commissions Heinzmann and RE Test Stands in Mexico and Dominican Republic

This advanced test equipment allows the servicing technician to simulate a diesel engine performance while testing the most advanced governors and actuators. RPG’s Mexico facility is located in Ciudad del Carmen and the Dominican Republic Facility is located in Juan Dolio outside of Santo Domingo.

SUBJECT:  RPG ANNOUNCES THE OPENING OF NEW SALES AND SERVICE BRANCH IN MEXICO


Resource Power Group (“RPG”) has established a service outlet in Ciudad del Carmen, Mexico for the support of medium engines in the power, marine, offshore, and industrial markets. The facility will specifically focus on EMD and MaK engines, Napier Turbochargers, Heinzmann and Regulateurs Europa governors and control systems, Noris Controls, and various other engines and control systems as the market may demand. Once the facility is in full operation, the it will house field and shop experts capable of the most sophisticated engine overhauls and repairs.

SUBJECT: RPG signs agreement with Noris Group GmbH

(Nuremberg, Germany)


Recently, Resource Power Group signed an agreement with Noris Group GmbH to represent their automation devices as well as their systems product lines throughout the southern half of the United States. 


This agreement went into effect July 24, 2015 and the partnership now enables RPG to expand and enhance its product portfolio in the field of marine engines and mobile power plants.  It will add to the already extensive products and services RPG provides to better serve their customers needs.


With numerous innovations, the Noris Group GmbH has established itself as a major player in the shipbuilding industry and transportation technology on the German and international markets. In real terms, this means significantly more than 5000 automation systems and more than 3000 engine safety systems and local operating panels. In addition, the delivery of more than 30.000 sensors per year. Effectively, since 1925 there are only a few ships that are not equipped with NORIS products.


The agreement was signed at the Employee Appreciation Days that celebrated Noris Group's 90th anniversary.
